The Garden Within
This art journaling prompt is about exploring what’s growing inside you right now—the parts of yourself that feel alive, tender, or even hidden beneath the soil.
Step 1: Draw the Ground
On your page, sketch a horizon or a patch of soil. This is the foundation of your inner garden.
Step 2: Plant What’s There
Above and below the soil, draw or paint what’s growing inside you.
Above the soil might be blossoms, fruit, or tangled weeds—what’s visible in your life right now.
Below the soil could be seeds, roots, or things still forming—what’s unseen but present.
Use color, shape, or symbol to let each part express itself.
Step 3: Notice the Care
Add elements that show how your garden is being cared for—or what it might need. Sunshine? Water? Protection? Space?
Sit with your image and notice what parts of your inner garden feel tended, and what parts might be asking for more care.
